Laser Hair Removal in Derby

Most people need a course of several laser hair removal sessions, but the exact number varies from person to person. At Lisse & Co., courses of 6 sessions are available, but some clients may need additional treatments depending on the area being treated, hair growth, hormones and how their body responds to laser.Your progress will be reviewed throughout your treatment journey, so you’ll always have a realistic idea of what to expect rather than being promised a set result in a set number of sessions.

Laser hair removal appointments are usually spaced around 4–6 weeks apart, with roughly 5 weeks being the ideal timing for many clients. This spacing allows time for new hairs to enter the right stage of their growth cycle, when laser treatment can target them most effectively.Your appointment schedule may vary slightly depending on the area being treated and how your hair responds.

Laser hair removal can feel different from person to person, and some areas are naturally more sensitive than others. Most clients describe the sensation as short bursts of heat or a quick flick against the skin rather than continuous pain. Intimate areas such as the Hollywood or bikini area can feel more sensitive, but treatment is usually relatively quick.Your free patch test also gives you the chance to experience the sensation before committing to treatment, and Emily will talk you through everything so you know what to expect.

No. During a laser hair removal course, shaving should be your main method of hair removal between appointments.Waxing and plucking remove the hair from the follicle. Laser treatment needs the follicle and pigment to remain in place so the laser can effectively target the hair.Waxing or plucking between appointments can therefore interfere with your treatment and may prolong the time it takes to achieve your best result.

Yes, you can wear fake tan between your laser hair removal appointments, but it needs to be completely removed 10–14 days before treatment.Laser hair removal works by targeting pigment in the hair follicle. Fake tan adds colour to the surface of the skin, which can make it harder for the laser to distinguish between the pigment in the hair and the surrounding skin. For this reason, the treatment area should be completely free from fake tan before your appointment.
